The shooting that shocked Falcon Heights and the rest of the world

In Issue 1, The Talon reported on the controversial death of Philando Castile who was shot and killed by a police officer after being pulled over supposedly for a broken tail light.

Since Castile’s death on July 6, 2016, the accused police officer, Jeronimo Yanez, pleaded not guilty to second-degree manslaughter.

In Feb. 2017, Judge William H. Leary III denied a defense request to drop all charges against Yanez.

The trial date is scheduled for May 30.
