Spring sports delayed due to weather

Posted: May 1, 2013

Heavy, wet, slushy and cold. Shovel by shovel. Court by court. Friday, April 12, the boys’ tennis team had to shovel the tennis courts off, taking them three hours. This wasn’t the first they had to shovel the courts either.

Tennis isn’t the only team that has been affected by the extend winter weather. Games and practices were canceled and teams have had to practice indoors. Athletes were becoming more and more frustrated with the never-ending winter. They worried that because so much of their season has already been canceled they may not have a long season.

Finally this past week spring sports have been able to play outside. Teams are now having a more cramped season with a lot of back-to-back games due to all of the cancellations. Although they are happy they can play outside again they are disappointed with the late start they got.
